Clients with special needs

Like all families, those with an individual having special needs want to proudly decorate their home with beautiful family portraits. As the photographer, it is Heidi's responsibility to:

  • Arrange a shoot that will meet the needs of your loved one
  • Work effectively with individuals who may interact differently than others
  • Ensure the safety of your loved one with special needs
  • Know what to expect with various special needs situations
  • Capture the unique personality of your loved one

Although Heidi has made a special effort to be educated on various types of special needs, she may be unfamiliar with your particular situation. If she is not familiar with your specific condition and needs, she will educate herself before meeting with you.

If you or a family member need special attention due to a disability, illness, or old age, it is very important that you schedule time to meet together prior to your portrait session. This will assist Heidi in better understanding the needs and abilities of your loved one.

One of her goals is to be able to work around medical devices such as wheelchairs and monitors. It is also her goal to make your portrait session a fun occasion, one that will be remembered fondly. Heidi works closely with parents and caregivers to design a shoot that is appropriate for the subject.

By working on location, Heidi provides the perfect opportunity to photograph your special needs loved one at their own home, a therapy center, or environmental location. This allows for more freedom of movement and natural lighting.
